This is really old...Its most popular in ToA with Ectos.
See the 504656773523423 people spamming "WTB ECTO 7k" - Some of them spam that all day and just put up 7gp and hope for the best. The next day the same people spam "WTS ECTO 7k" and sell off all the ectos they scammed the day before.

Remember when Reporting YOu'll need:
1) Screenshots
2) The District/Town it happened in
3) The TIME it happened
4) The person's name
5) The person's Momma's Maiden Name
6) What school the person goes too
7) Etc...etc..You get the point.
The last few are jokes of course...but you can't just give them a screenshot and the guys name. They'll reply back to you and ask for Every Detail of the situation (District, Time, Names, and "any other relevent info") and if you don't reply in a certain number of hours your ticket is considered resolved and they forget about it.

It's stupid to try something like that, and morally wrong, but if you accept "100g" it's your own fault.

I hate this especially when it's a stupid attempt such as when you say something like - (Insert new green here) only 300k!! Ectos and shards + money. You then get noobs trying to give you 300g, when 300k isn't even possible.
Just ignore thise stupid noobs and let them enjoy their noobness.

How many of those scammers who try to sell their ectos that they bought for 7g, for 7k, get scammed themselves, and end up selling it for 7g, do you think?

those guys are just a waste of time. im trying to sell something going around different districts trying to sell my stuff and some guy starts talking about the price and when we finally come to an agreement to what i thought was a serious buyer and then i find out he just wasted about 5 minutes of my time when he puts in "g" instead of "k." its really frustrating dealing with these guys.

Items shouldn't be sold for gold only. When a weapon cost less than 1K, it should be salvaged, or given away to some newbie.
Take away the gold input, and Anet solves a whole lot scam opportunities.

The problem is a scamming attempt. These annoying idiots waste people's time even attempts fails. There is so many with different names, it is impossible to know who is trying to scam. Ignore list holds only 10 players.

Its the scammers fault because they tried to fool the seller, duh. Unless the seller is a 100% perfect and alert person you can't say its their own fault. The seller might be considered careless but that's as far as it goes.

The seller is acting in good faith. The scammer is acting in bad faith. That's all one needs to know to determine who's at fault.
